Description
Vitamix’s are good for more than just smoothies, including vibrantly nutritious green juice! This recipe is adapted from the Vitamix recipe binder that came with my machine, in the tab marked “Healthy New You”.
Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 head organic romaine lettuce, roughly chopped
- 1 cup organic baby spinach
- 4 stalks celery, halved
- 1 organic apple, cored and quartered
- 1/2 fresh organic lemon, peeled
- 1 small, seedless orange, peeled*
- 1 tablespoon agave*
Instructions
- Place water, romaine, spinach and celery into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
- Select Variable 1.
- Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 8.
- Blend for 30 seconds or until smooth, using tamper as needed. Stop machine and remove lid.
- Add apple, orange, lemon and agave to the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
- Select Variable 1.
- Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 10, then to High.
- Blend for 30 seconds or until desired consistency is reached. Add a little more water if desired.
Notes
* I added an orange in place of pear, which was listed in the original recipe. I also left out the banana, but added agave for sweetness.
